About Mr. Ray Tsoi

Mr. Tsoi is a distinguished conductor, violinist, violist, and music educator with an illustrious career spanning over three decades. He holds a Master of Music and Bachelor of Music from The University of Oklahoma, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Music from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA). Tsoi studied under the guidance of renowned teachers such as Joseph Fuchs, Michael Ma, Fan Ting, and Wayne Crouse for violin and viola, and Adam F. Brennan for conducting.

As a violinist and violist, Tsoi has garnered numerous accolades and honors throughout his musical journey. In 1994, he won the Concerto Competition and the Sutton Chamber Music Award at The University of Oklahoma. His exceptional musicianship earned him the Outstanding Musicianship and Performance Award from the Channing Classics Musical Society in the United States in 1995.

In 1996, while serving as a violinist with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta (1996-2006), he founded the Hong Kong Chamber Soloist. Tsoi has performed on prestigious stages worldwide and participated in major international festivals.

As a conductor, Tsoi has collaborated with esteemed educational institutions such as St. Paul's Co-educational College Primary School and Diocesan Girls' Junior School. He served as the Principal Conductor of the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of Hong Kong from 2005 to 2010 and the True Colors Symphony from 2020 to 2021. Tsoi is also the Founder of the Hong Kong Music Academy.

Tsoi’s passion lies in nurturing young musicians, and he continues to inspire and educate future generations. Currently, he serves as a violin and viola instructor at several prestigious institutions in Hong Kong, including HKAPA (since 1996), Hong Kong Baptist University (since 1996), the Chinese University of Hong Kong (since 2013), and the University of Hong Kong (since 2023). At HKAPA, Tsoi is the Conductor of the Symphony Orchestra, String Ensemble, and Repertoire Ensemble of the Junior Music Programme. Additionally, he is the String Director at Music Children Foundation and conducts the Great Eagle Music Children Symphony Orchestra and String Ensembles. He also conducts the VSA Orchestra and String Ensembles at the Victoria Shanghai Academy.

蔡睿是一位著名的指揮家、小提琴家、中提琴家及音樂教育家,擁有超過三十年的深厚資歷。蔡氏擁有奧克拉荷馬大學的音樂碩士及音樂學士學位,以及香港演藝學院的音樂高級文憑學位。他曾師承著名教師Joseph Fuchs、馬忠為、范丁和Wayne Crouse學習小提琴和中提琴,並隨 Adam F. Brennan學習指揮造詣。

作為小提琴家和中提琴家,蔡氏在音樂生涯中屢獲殊榮。1994年,他在奧克拉荷馬大學贏得了協奏曲比賽及Sutton Chamber Music Award。蔡氏卓越的音樂才華使他於1995年獲得美國Channing Classics Musical Society頒發的Outstanding Musicianship and Performance 獎項。他於1996年在香港小交響樂團(1996-2006)擔任小提琴家,同時創立了Hong Kong Chamber Soloist。蔡氏曾於世界各地的著名舞台上演出,並參加重要的國際音樂節。

作為指揮家,蔡氏曾與聖保羅男女中學附屬小學和拔萃女小學等多家著名教育機構合作。他曾擔任香港青少年管弦樂團(2005-2010)及True Colors Symphony(2020-2021)的首席指揮。蔡氏亦是香港音樂學院的創辦人。

蔡氏熱衷於培養年輕音樂家,並積極啟發及培育新一代的音樂家。目前,蔡氏在香港的幾所知名學府教授小提琴及中提琴,包括香港演藝學院(自1996)、香港浸會大學(自1996)、香港中文大學(自2013)及香港大學(自2023)。在香港演藝學院,蔡氏擔任青少年音樂課程管弦樂團、初級弦樂團及中級弦樂團指揮。此外,他亦擔任音樂兒童基金會的弦樂總監,並指揮鷹君音樂兒童合奏團及弦樂團。同時,他亦指揮滬江維多利亞學校的青少年交響樂團及弦樂團。
